CG 24 04

The ISO endorsement waiving the insurer’s right of subrogation against a named party.

CG 24 04 is the ISO endorsement titled 'Waiver of Transfer of Rights of Recovery Against Others to Us.' When attached to a Commercial General Liability policy, it prevents the insurer from pursuing subrogation (recovery from a responsible third party) against a specified party, usually the general contractor or property owner. Construction subcontracts typically require this endorsement so that if the sub's insurer pays a claim caused by the sub, the insurer can't then turn around and sue the GC to recover the payment. Like Additional Insured endorsements, CG 24 04 can be issued on a scheduled basis (named party) or as a blanket endorsement triggered by written contract.
